PSA: Don't leave evidence behind

Note to potentinal juvenile deliquents: if you're going to commit a crime, it's probably a good idea NOT to leave your wallet at the scene of your crime, as did one of two Cambridge Springs teens who went on a recent vandalism bender, including spray painting graffiti on the building that once housed the Dairy Mart and Quick Stop convenience stores. Police probably appreciated the clue, though (as I'm sure they did with the dude who left his child-porn-containing flash drive in an area parking lot).

It's been a heck of a news week for Cambridge Springs.

Assault nets man 5 to 15 years in prison

Cambridge Springs resident Brian Catalano (age 43) was sentenced to 5.5 to 15 years in prison for having sex with a 13-year-old girl in his car and Spring Street residence. The Erie Times-News has the full story, which details that Catalano also had inappopriate sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl and bought beer for both girls.

I think it almost goes without saying that the potential this guy could serve only five years is pretty sickening.

Lost flash drive leads to child porn charge

A Cambridge Springs man lost a USB flash drive in a parking lot. A helpful citizen found the drive and turned it over to Cambridge Springs police. The police looked at the drive, found child porn on it, and traced it to its owner. Oops. I guess he should have invested in a lanyard.
