Career opportunity
I noticed this job posting on the Meadville Tribune's Web site today. I'm not sure if this is an additional position or if someone is leaving the force. In related news, my kids were excited to see a police cruiser with its lights on drive by the house on Saturday evening during the tornado warning. The officer was on the loudspeaker advising residents to seek shelter, which I thought was nice.

The Borough of Cambridge Springs is accepting applications for the position of part time patrolman until July 11, 2008. Applicants must meet the following criteria: must be a high school graduate or equivalent, must have current Act 120 Certification, must be a U.S. Citizens, must be physically/mentally fit and have the ability to complete and pass all necessary requirements for the position. Prior to appointment applicant must possess a valid drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The part time officer is a replacement for a an officer hired full time in Edinboro. Two public sessions were held to gauge the interest of the citizens in replacing of the part time position. No one spoke against replacing the position, several spoke in favor of having the part time officer.
